Missed: everyone else due to being tied to merch table

Day 2 of doing merch at Cosmic Sonic Rendezvous meant for the most part I had to stick around home base, this time in the Brooklyn Monarch.  I did get to sneak over for Carousel's reformation who I haven't seen in over 10 years and the close out set for Mick's Jaguar once the main room cleared out and there were no more customers to deal with.  However, there are other posts on this blog from seeing sets from Sacri Monti, The Obsessed and Legions of Doom not to mention Mick's Jaguar, so I don't really have to give you a description, you can go to the recent write up link for that.

Pentagram I last saw opening for Acid Bath.  Actually the main stage was all bands I've gone to before multiple times over decades. Sacri Monti is a little more rare to catch.  People were talking about Sabbath Warlock and Magick Potion, so I guess those are bands I will check out next opportunity.

Anyway, fun day, merch was busier day 2 and Kenny didn't lose his shirt so he'll probably try it again next year.  I also had to build up a dragon prop for Dave Hill that was missing some electronic parts about 15 minutes before showtime.  It at least looked like a giant beast overlooking the stage.  Dave said it was supposed to be intuitive how to put it together and asked me by surprise before I set up the merch table, so once that was done I took my crack at it.  The only thing was there were no instructions and lots of female plugs with no male ones except for one power cord that did nothing when plugged in with the other plugs unattended.  Of course we had to break it down the next day on top of dealing with bringing the backline either to rehearsal or storage.   Fortunately there was a box that fit all the parts!  So I'm a bit stiff and sore after helping deal with all the physical stuff that went into this all week, but I guess that's the price you pay for rock n' roll with independent labels and independent venues.
