Cate Le Bon @ Knockdown Center, Queens, NY 9/30/26

Bill: Cate Le Bon/Lucrecia Dalt/Dagmar Zuniga Venue: Knockdown Center, 52-19 Flushing Ave. , Maspeth, Queens, NY Date: Wednesday 9/30/26 Ticket: Free (Dice was $38.17 all in) 9pm Cate Le Bon Active: 2007 (Penboyr, Carmarthenshire, Wales) Latest Release: Michaelangelo Dying (Mexican Summer, 2025) Bandcamp Facebook Instagram Discogs Setlist AllMusic Wiki YouTube Spotify When Cate Le Bon did her Psychic TV cover " Just Drifting ,"  there was a certain air of familiarity with it, but I didn't quite know what it was.  Could this be Leonard Cohen? Bryan Ferry?  Nick Cave?  I was running the contenders through my head and I did not think of Genesis P-Oridge.   Cate Le Bon has been a Mojo darling for some time and what I have heard over the years I liked enough for her to be on my endless bucket list to see.  Well the free Gods of experience bestowed entry to Knockdown although I couldn't get there in time to see the recently David Sylvia...

Much and nothing has happened in that time period.  PiL reconstituted itself in 2009 after some time off and played a couple times in NYC.  I remember other people going.  I may very well have missed it this time, but a friend of mine was buying tickets for this roughly 1,500 venue show last March, so I figured what the hell, I'll have in on it.  It seemed so far away at the time, it was almost as ridiculous as John Lydon himself, but it indeed sold...

The thing that sets the Charlatans apart is the Hammond Organ.  They aren't a greatest hits band and do a healthy amount from their new album We Are Love.  Founding bass player Martin Blunt is the longest standing member and vocal...
