Jonny Couch had a last minute Saturday night show at Sleepwalk so I took advantage of the open bar 7-8 then hung out for the show.  Jonny had full room and as usual it was good to catch up although I split after the show for the Angry Samoans at Gold Sounds.  Jonny asked if Jeff Dahl was still in them.  Not only was he not, but the only original member was the drummer.

Speaking of drummers Jonny is one, but in his band he is a singing frontman without instrument.    His hits that I 've heard over the years flew by: "Hideaway," "Vertigo," "Animal Instinct."  For many years I thought he punchuated the end of the song with "oh my fucking God!" instead of the actual "all my fucking life."  Of course rock and roll is full of audience members making their own lyrics up.

Opener Jasno Swarez played in duo format with someone on stage to spray paint  on canvas ala The Creation without any sort of mod influence. The grafiti were things like "Everyone is Gay!" and the title of his latest recording up on Bandcamp If You Listen To This You're Gay.
