Another trip around the sun and that means it's about time for another Negative Approach show. Knowing TV Eye sells these out, I got a ticket a couple months ago and fortunately was able to fix work hours to get over there in time. I even got to see a full set from The Damaged from Philly who reminded me of early Blast who were derivative of guess who.
This years model of NA had the same cast they've had in a while. This particular version of the band is now a good 20 years in after John Brannon moved on to Laughing Hyenas and the band still has it's alter ego of Easy Action as we saw on the Dinosaur tour last year. Negative Approach sort've serves a function for first generation Hardcore that the Ramones served for punk rock. Tour constantly, show up once or twice every year headlining smaller places or opening in bigger ones. You want something new before the real deal, the opening bands on the bill are mostly new locals with a demo tape. I'm always happy to check in.
