The Roger That! record release show featured local regulars Mustafina and old friend Zito's new band Human Racehorses coming in from Connecticut. The venue Sleepwalk is a local bar near that practice space that has a band room in the back that can't go past 10, so the "headliner" for the record release tends to play second to last, even though Mustafina could "headline" in their own right.
That settled, Tee Pee has pressed up the second Roger That! release on yellow vinyl entitled Flashback Fever. The first one was Mucho Gusto, which came in 2020 shortly after that band changed it's name from Windbreaker.
Mustafina's vocalist Aubrey Smith still hits her highest highs and the Jung-Giffen guitar tandem was spread out on the floor in stereo in front of the stage given the small size.
Zito came to town all the way from his painting studio in East Granby, CT with band in tow and even a cello. I caught them last summer as well at the short lived Knitting Factory in the Pyramid that has since been on pause due to noise complaints.
