After the Avengers show my friend Eric alerted me to a free show at Baby's All Right, so I hopped back on the good ole B60 to Broadway and walked over there from Gold Sounds.  Bambara have been around for some time--18 years-- but I never heard of them before.  Tonight was a sort of a record release show for their 6th album coming out next week called Birthmarks.  Eric thought the singer had a Jim Morrison vibe and I could see what he was talking about.  It made me think of another band I saw last year called Monobloc who are much newer and more commercial.  This band is just a touch artier.

Opening was LEYA who I remembered from seeing them open for Uniform last year.  I didn't remember the duo aspect, in fact from my angle I could just see the operatic violinist vocalist on stage and not the harp player.  I thought it was electronics until the harp player came out from stage right to applause after the music was done.
