Tee Pee's "power pop" wing made for an early evening double bill at Mercury Lounge Wednesday.  Valley Lodge is the long running band led by funnyman Dave Hill.  The Lodge are rooted in midwestern bands from Cleveland since Dave did time in Cobra Verde and former member John Kimbrough was in Walt Mink from Minneapolis.  Dave's been working his solo comedy show off broadway, so he can't help but incorporate schtick elements into his banter.  Unlike, his Witch Taint band, this is the one where he plays it most "straight."  

Roger That! started at 6:30 sharp, a set time more common in NYC than it used to be for a Wednesday.  Flashback Fever has been out a few months now and those songs are band standard honed over time. Even "Just Pants!"
