I hadn't seen Ringo live since my first time way back in 1989.  That was when he started his format of surrounding himself with other hitmakers to pad out his Beatle and solo hits while he plays drums on other people music.  It's a good concept for Ringo, although I fantasize about seeing him in a club or theatre with him focusing solely on his own material.  Toto's guitarist Steve Lukather has been entrenched in this band for 14 years, which makes sense in some way, since Toto's drummer Jeff Porcoro has been gone for some time.  The other main ringers of this band contributing their  songs each are Colin Hay with his Men At Work hits and Hamish Stuart, bass player of the Average White Band.  Ringo was paired with a second drummer, Greg Bisonette known for session work with later period Santana and touring with David Lee Roth.  Greg would serve handy when Ringo decided to come to the fore as a vocalist on material like "With A Little Help From My Friends" and "Yellow Submarine."

Ringo seems to have dropped "You're Sixteen" from his set since 2019 and gave us no encores.   There were some crucial missing classics like "Don't Pass Me By" and "Back Off Boogaloo" as well,  but for the most part, most of the standards were there: "Matchbox" kicked off the night, "Boys" was noted to be in the Beatles 1964 Forest Hills set, which was the last time Ringo played there.

There were a couple of obscurities: "Work To Do" from Stuart Hamish's AWB Average White Band album covering the Isley Brothers and "Choose Love" from Ringo's new country album Long Road Home.  Otherwise it was all hits from "It Don't Come Easy" to "Photograph" and Beatles basics like "Octopus's Garden" and the Lennon penned "I'm The Greatest."  These were padded out with hits done by the band members like "Rosanna," "Africa," "Down Under," "Who Can It Be Now?" and "Pick Up The Pieces."

Hey, It's Ringo!  Glad to catch up.
