It's been a while since I've last seen Rush. 22 years to be exact on the Snakes and Latters cover album tour at Radio City Music Hall.  Before that, I hadn't seen them since back to back '84 (Grace Under Pressure) and '85 (Power Windows) tours in Worcester.  This tour is the debut of 43 year old German fusion drummer Anika NiIles.

It was a fine tribute to Neil Peart, two sets and encore lasting about three hours.  I got the song that never seemed to get played when I truly cared back in the 80's: "Working Man."  They have been alternating feature albums, so this time we got Moving Pictures start to finish at the beginning of the second set.  While in the super-long piss line at intermission, a guy that sneakily cut me then began to let me know they were paying Moving Pictures tonight and played 2112 last Thursday.  The girl that sat next to me in my row asked assumptively if I saw other dates on the tour.  Everyone thinks you are an expert at Rush, even if you are in the cheapest ($218!) possible seat you could find.

So aside from what I mentioned, there was plenty of 70's from the opening "Xanadu" to the "By-Tor and The Snowdog"/"Working Man" encore.   We also got "La Villa Strangiato" and of course "Closer To The Heart."  There also seemed to be a little more Signals--at least hits like "Subdivision" and "New World Man."  There was plenty of later period (i.e. "Red Sector A" from Grace and onward) all the way to "Headlong Flight" from the last studio album back in 2012.

100 years before 2112!
