Trying to figure out the set times was a little difficult with a 7pm door.  My guess was somewhere in the 8:45-9:15 range with the opener at 8, but from my 8:38 arrival, the Dots were already on.

The Legendary Pink Dots lead by Edward Ka-Spel are one of those long running (45 years since 1980) entities that have cranked out a nearly infinite amount of music.  The ones I knew were the ones Play It Again Sam put out in the late 80's while I was doing radio.  They always sounded good and were worth playing.  The only other time I've seen them was at the Brooklyn Knitting Factory where they played 2013, 2016 and 2019.  I'm pretty sure it was the 2019 one, but who knows it may have been 2016 or 2013.

With a band like this the focus for me is more on the work of the moment since the band is constantly putting up tracks on Bandcamp and has a massive body of full length.  I chose So Lonely In Heaven to play streaming in the background while writing this, in part to see if I remembered any of the material from the performance.  You could go a week with the bands full catalog on random shuffle and many not recognize a thing if the following week you elected to stick with a single random album.  I'm sure there is some fan of modern British alternative indie psych that would embark on this project and be rewarded with some gems.  The one that stuck out tonight for me was "No Matter What You Do."
