It's always a great day when Kenny Chambers comes to town. Moving Targets has had a burst of activity in the past 7 years or so with a stable lineup featuring drummer Emilien Catalano and bass player Yves Thibault. I went hog wild and bought everything the band was selling including the new album Red Eyes on Turquoise vinyl, which I just wrapped up spinning. I've got to get the few recentish CD I hadn't heard yet out of my jacket pocket and throw them on next. Kenny was saying he has like 60 songs in the can so it's cool to see he is excited about new stuff.
Iron Chic have been around a while but this was the first time I saw them. They do an emo thing and had a full room. SAVAK I have seen before when Matt Hunter was playing bass with them, but he wasn't there this time. Time moves on and they have a new album Squawk! that they didn't have last time I saw them. Hasty are a girl led garage rock band that I also hadn't witnessed before. They have that distinct sound that you've heard before but works if that makes any sense.
