With a show like this, with 11 established, long running acts doing 1 or 2 songs each, it is very tough to get all the information straight and together.  The Last Real Texas Blues Album Compilation New West is putting out August 22 goes a long way to putting a microscope on the acts that were here tonight.  Lincoln Center played host to Austin and Chicago for free outside on a warm summer night. 

 Some of the people that grace the Austin venue of Antone's have been around since the 50's and 60's.  Jivin' Gene is probably the oldest of these and has a staple with "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" from 1959.  Then you have guys like John Primer, Benny Turner and Lurie Bell who worked with other names long before they released their own records. "New" artists like Sue Foley and Lil' Ed been around for decades as were the first act I saw tonight, The Texas Horns.  Kam Franklin from The Suffers also has over 15 years under her belt.  You have family tradition people like CJ Chenier, Big Bill Morganfield and the closer Jimmie Vaughan.  What families!
