The specters of Harold Budd and Brian Eno reigned over the ambient performance of Daniel Lanois.  This was the third and final area show.  He did a Q&A type performance at National Sawdust, than a show Saturday at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church.  He had a immersive event there entitled Reflections that he is also performing next month in Chicago and LA the month after that.  Tonight was a late-added intimate third show at the 280 capacity Baby's All Right club in Brooklyn.

This was billed as "an evening of instrumentals and sonics" and that's just what we received.  He was paired with New Orleans engineer Wayne Lorenz.  Daniel has been collaborating with Wayne for a long time.  So there they were behind a synthesizer bank and laptop seemingly in deep conversation onstage about what they were performing whether sonic or instrumental. 

Elori Saxl is a newer artist of note with her latest release a score for the PBS series Earth Focus.  I came in knowing nothing about her, but it was clear she was a cut above with a few releases under her belt that she was selling.
