Antibalas is doing a 2-night stand at hometown jam band venue/bowling alley club chain Brooklyn Bowl this weekend for the flagship venues 15th anniversary.  I last saw Antibalas in Prospect Park and I'm thinking way before the 2005 date that is up on setlist.fm although 15-20 years ago was what was in my head.  Maybe it was as late as 2005, the park was jam packed that day and I had to watch from the lawn.

Anyway, I won a pair of tickets for this, so no time like the present to see NYC's premier Afrobeat band inspired by Fela.  11 players in a semi circle guitars stage right, percussion in the middle and horns stage left.  No vocals.  Opener was Toubab Krewe from Asheville, NC and they gave a modified version of that style with members of Antibalas joining them from time to time.
