There are alot of international Garage Punk bands running around on tour and in NYC this week after last weeks GonerFest in Memphis at the end of September.  Melbourne's Split System were wrapping up their tour this night and were joined by Montreal's Puffer, New Haven's Killer Kin and locals from Brooklyn, TVOD or Television Overdose for full.

It's pretty cool all these bands have established themselves within this decade as far as I know and all have releases and activity to show for it.  It gives one hope.  My friend Eric has been on me to see Killer Kin for a while since they are the dominant band in his home away from home in Milford, CT the next town over.  You don't hear much coming from New Haven in general, but every once in a while a quality band comes out of Connecticut.  Killer Kin is of the confrontational-Iggy school of punk rock that popularized itself in the 90's.  Puffer and Split System also use that template with a charismatic vocalist and guitar/bass/drums assault.  TVOD spice it up a little with a keyboardist who has an infectious smile to counter the singers "Christian Rollins" approach.
