Far from a one hit wonder ("Too Many Creeps" a 7" single from 1980), Bush Tetras have kept going long despite the passing of original bass player Laura Kennedy in 2011 and local drumming celebrity Dee Pop in 2021. They've picked up Cait O'Riordan, the Pogue in New York City to fill the bass and Steve Shelly of Sonic Youth played on the latest acclaimed release, They Live In My Head. Somehow all these years they were a bucket list band I never saw but horse trading with my friend Eric for won pair plus one got me in for free tonight. They sound great!
Milwaukee transplant Abby Jeanne played with her latest entity the Shadowband, although she has been releasing music for a while simply under her name as well as other entities. She does kind of a plaintive garage thing that my friend thought reminded him of Shannon and the Clams. I think she was congested; she said something about having to pop her ears.
