Originally this bill was announced as King Buzzo (Solo Acoustic) which I witnessed at Brooklyn's short lived The Wick all the way back in 2014. I was guessing around 5 years ago. Anyway, this time around the venue only advertised King Buzzo then had "and Trevor Dunn" in microscopic lettering. All of this despite King Dunn being a releasing entity since 2022. If you don't know it, Buzz plays Melvins songs on acoustic guitar accompanied by Mr. Bungle's Dunn on upright bass. They recently covered The Dicks, and played it this show. Heavy acoustic, man!
Pinkus, long out of the Butthole Surfers, served some time in the Melvins as did Dunn. Pinkus now tours solo with a banjo and some kind of voice modulating pedals as well as a pair of sacks that project images that seem to be random. I didn't notice any nudity or surgery clips like in the Butthole years.
I walked in without knowing Titan To Tachyons were added. Apparently local acts are being added to this tour last minute and unannounced. Since Music Hall runs early, the 7 Doors 8 Show meant Pinkus on at 8 sharp, so instead of arriving early, I was late. Too bad for me as the bad seemed a cool instrumental band along the lines of Stinking Lizaveta. They've been around since 2020 and have released a couple albums. Apparently October 1st at TV Eye is their next announced date. Good for me since I live a 10 minute walk from there.
