When the early evening show at Mama Tried got out, I was still itching to see some music. It was the whiskey shots talking even though I had some potato salad there to cut the drinkin'. Since Mama Tried is way out in Greenwood Heights (or is it still South Slope?), I usually hit Lucky 13 on the way back to Bushwick. When I got there a show was happening so I paid 15 bucks (!) to roll the dice on some unknown music.
The band I walked into was Ordainment and I thought they were pretty good. It might have been the whiskey talking, but I was just in the mood to see loud young energetic metal. Caerdroia were of the sludgier variety. They were good but at some point I hit a wall toward the end of their set and I had to get a car back. The show was billed as a "demo release" so I'm guessing they just started this year or last.
