I got the text around 1pm coming out of my 4th Pilates class from Matt Army that he is in town from San Francisco and going to the show on the facebook link.  I'm there I proclaimed!  

I hadn't seen Matt in a couple years and The Hecklers bass player Chris Mooney in much longer.  I looked at his apartment in around 2003 when I had to move and Matt was living with him.  He had a T-shirt of that very apartment!  It doesn't get more local than that!  The Hecklers put out a split single and a 7" and called it a day until this Birthday reunion for free.

The surprise guests were unannounced, perhaps unnamed and featured surviving members of the Norton Records band The Church Keys.  It had been a while and as the synapses started snappin' I was thinking to myself that they seemed like something I would have seen at Lakeside Lounge 20 years ago.  Sure enough that is where I remember seeing the Church Keys.

So a fun afternoon catchup with Matt Army that continued down the street at Rullo's and made me procrastinate heading to Negative Approach at TV Eye that I bought a ticket for three months ago, a 45 minute car ride away!
