Had an urge to see a random gig last night and my friend Eric, who is extremely locked into garage punk both local and beyond, recommended this show last Sunday at the Kid Congo gig.  So off I went!

Spite FuXX have been around at least 4 years and I've seen their name quite a bit.  Who could miss the XXX in caps in the listing?  It reminds me of something that would play in LA at the dawn of the hardcore era.  Instead of keyboard there was a Theremin player added to guitar-bass-drums and a vocalist out of the confrontational school of Wendy O. Williams.  Well, maybe a little less extreme, but I'm sure there have been some moments.   They are playing again soon at TV Eye on an all day affair Plaga Tercermundista 2.

Tashi Delay was a one-woman guitarist multi-media (she tours with projector) extravaganza from New Orleans, British born.  Looks like she is doing it all herself so kudos to that.  Electronic based but she's got a bag of tricks on guitar.  She'll bust out a slide.

Spirit Of A Slain Eagle were a member down due to a death in the family, so they played as a guitar-drums duo where both sang.
