I can't seem to remember where I first saw Redd Kross--either the Channel or the Paradise late 80's early 90's, and I've seen the band over the years. I thought I saw them at the Rat, but that was 1987 and I'm going to say I was underage and couldn't go. Melvins drummer Dale Crover was drumming for them and maybe I heard him DJ when I arrived, but if there was a solo set I missed it. I thought he might be DJing due to surgery that took him out of drumming condition for a Melvins tour last year. Anyway he was fine and drumming for the Kross.
As for Redd Kross, they've got a new double album decked out as a Red "White Album" out on In The Red after a stretch of time last decade on Merge. For me nothing beats their teenage album Born Innocent, but they stuck to "Linda Blair" from that although they did earlier material like "Annette's Got The Hits" that kicked off the encores a couple of my friends arrived fashionably late for. We did get the combo Osmonds/Kiss combo of "Crazy Horse" and "Deuce."
