This year Boris are doing a look back at the Pink album on it's 20th anniversary. Last year it was Amplifier Worship. They have such a massive discography they could pay tribute to many things, but Pink is one of their core releases to the point that Relapse has issued a new live release of it. There really isn't much else to say about this sonic wall. Maybe I said it last year. The encore was "Drone." That sort of sums it up.
Opening were Uniform, who I also saw last year in a headlining capacity. American Standard is still their latest. There were still the same hyperactive grunts and howls from the frontman. The wrinkle was using a stagelight to punctuate yelling only for the silence to be punctured by an audience member yelling what I thought was "I'm Fucking Gay!" to which Michael Berdan the vocalist broke performance and asked what was wrong with that? Then called for the audience member to be tossed. I didn't know if the audience member was making a proclamation or beratement. It didn't matter. Get him up against the wall!
New rules for a new age.
