Finally, after an initial postponement from last October, the Bevis Frond have embarked on Nick's first full US tour in 25 years.  They were here for one offs here and there but not since right before Rubric issued Valedictory Songs have they gotten in the van and "fucked off" cross country.

Adrian Shaw had to sit this one out and sadly I got word that his wife passed a couple weeks back.   My heartfelt condolence go out to Ade and his family.  Even though "The Bevis Frond" was first and foremost Nick Saloman, I had been accustomed to also see Ade all these years and he was greatly missed.  That said Louis Wiggett is a fine bass addition.  Drummer Dave Pearce has been around in recent years and Alchemysts guitarist Paul Simmons was long Nick's radio cohort.  Extended family and friends were all over.  Mary Lou Lord came down from Boston, old touring drummer Joe Propatier came down from Providence.   The Bevis Frond will be doing a second show tonight at the Knitting Factory's soundproofed Nightclub 101 that Baker Falls recently moved out of since this one tonight sold out.

Nick had to cut tonight a few songs short since there was a 10pm show booked.  This meant that Oneida went on at 6:45 and were done when I got there.  I hadn't seen them in 20 years or so, but I guess I'll see them again some other time.  As of this writing, the setlist hasn't been posted, but it was essentially the same as the Somerville one without any encores and "Magic Potion" by the Open Mind closing out the night after "He'd Be A Diamond."

One fun fact Nick noted after the show the glass plating is entirely made of ashtrays.  I never noticed!
